The Role:Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the customer throughout solutions development process
- Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand user needs and goals
- Conduct user-centered design research and usability testing with customers
- Develop detailed personas and lead a persona-driven design approach
- Create consistently high-quality user interface mockups/walk-throughs for stakeholder reviews
- Perform usability testing and take a data-driven approach to optimizing user experience
- Work within an Agile (Scrum and Kanban) environment to plan and deliver work incrementally
- Contribute to user acceptance testing with customers especially as part of early adopter programs
- Help customers visualize and understand complex data and make operational decisions
- Build strong partnerships with software engineers, business analysts and product managers
- Contribute to Dematic UX standards for software product enhancements
- Contribute to customer training design to support effective operations
- Contribute to a UX community of practice to develop standards, process and tools
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in human-computer interaction, design or related field
- Experience working directly with customers to conduct user research and feedback
- Expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Minimum of 8 years of experience working on design for enterprise software
- Exceptional communication skills to present work to customers and executives
- Experience using standard prototyping and design tools including Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proven ability to work independently, set own priorities, and meet commitments
- Understanding of customer analytics and principles of data visualization and dashboards
- Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
- A strong portfolio of web and mobile design work for real products
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum or Kanban environment to evolve product designs iteratively
- Willingness to travel with some frequency for on-site customer discussions
- Experience working with global customers is an asset
