What is the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Vendor Management & Procurement responsible for?
The SVP is a dynamic corporate wide multi-faceted strategic leader of enterprise vendor management, sourcing, procurement, enterprise contract negotiations, software asset management, spend & category management (across: technology, market data services, corporate service and travel services), and oversight of our supplier diversity program. Responsible for strategic end to end leadership which includes planning, implementing, and monitoring enterprise sourcing management processes and programs.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Vendor Management & Procurement?
- Strategic leader highly skilled at developing, operating, and driving ongoing maturity of critical enterprise programs: Sourcing & Procurement Operations, Spend & Category Management across Information Technology (hardware, software & services), Market Data Services, Travel Services, Spend Analytics & Supplier Strategy and Software Asset Management.
- Skilled leader in complex strategic enterprise contract negotiations and leader of highly skilled negotiators through contract strategy and execution/maintenance of agreements. Extensive experience in negotiation strategies and driving results with strategic providers of products and or services.
- Internal Business Relationship Management – Business engagement on strategic sourcing and ongoing relationship management to meet current and future business needs.
- Serve as a liaison with portfolio managers/trading groups/middle office/technology teams/middle-back-office functions and provide direct support for their data sourcing needs.
- Extensive engagement with each Investment Team and Specialized Investment Managers on the sourcing and managing of traditional market data, alternative data, and investment solutions. Strong content insight, and knowledge of key providers of data services.
- Oversight of global program and daily operations of procurement services across all spending categories. Leading cross functional spend/consumption analytics to drive efficiency and effectiveness of global strategic sourcing.
- Strategic leader of 3rd and 4th Party Vendor Risk Management. Global leader of the Vendor Management Program and community.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Seasoned and skilled contract negotiator of enterprise global product & services agreements.
- Talent manager and developer.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to communicate and share solutions with fellow team members.
- Asset/Investment Management industry (front, middle & back office) experience required.
- Excellent knowledge of all financial data (market, reference, alternative, index services, etc).
- 10 – 15+ years’ experience as a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of all market data services, characteristics, and value across all asset classes, segments, and services.
- Prior experience managing centralized real-time market data platforms and historical time series analytics data and services.
- Technology sourcing and management experience.
- Strong collaboration skills, internal and external communication skills with clients, auditors, regulators & suppliers, and executive management.
- 3rd and 4th Party Risk Management experience.

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $255,000.00 - $350,000.00.
