The SVP of Global Geospatial Content Operations is responsible for defining the strategic direction and planning for Nearmap’s geospatial content operations aligned to our ambition, and overseeing the ongoing production and delivery of Nearmap’s geospatial content portfolio to schedule, budget, quality standards and GTM requirements.
Reporting to the EVP – Strategy & Operations, responsibilities include (1) strategic planning to support Nearmap business growth and expansion (2) leading a robust, dependable and industry-leading global Geospatial Content division supporting GTM functions deliver to plan and on budget (3) optimising Geospatial Content production to maximize ACV and minimise cost and risk (4) assisting the EVP – Strategy & Operations and company with operations strategy.
- Scalable Operations roadmap: owns and evolves the Geospatial Content Operations vision, strategy and innovation roadmap to support the Nearmap ambition
- Efficiency, Automation & Growth: develop efficiency and automation opportunities across GCO to enable operational, financial and employee development, and position for expansion of coverage, content types and acquisitions
- Technology readiness: works with Technology to develop requirements and plans for operational readiness in response to future technology
- Partnerships: owns and maintains the relationships, growth, performance and risk strategies of our content provider partners and future operations partners
- Growth Operations strategy: works with the Nearmap business across senior strategic and innovation functions to develop, evolve and communicate the Growth Operations roadmap” needed to support Nearmap’s vision and corporate and tech strategy
- Operations: ensure continuous, consistent and robust operation of our global Geospatial Content production pipeline and timely delivery of content
- Resourcing: ensure the Geospatial Content Operations directors/managers (operations managers) have the resourcing they require to deliver agreed content and programs, including staff, budgets and systems
- Budget: accountability for setting and managing global geospatial content operations budgets. Oversight of regional geospatial content operations budget setting and management, ensuring that budgets are aligned to GTM plans.
- Decision-making: lead regional operations directors to agree and maintain in-region decision-making frameworks to support GTM functions
- GTM Alignment: provide strategic oversight to regional operations directors to align and engage operations with GTM requirements and plans
Communications: ensure effective reporting and information mechanisms for internal and external stakeholders - Partnerships: oversee contract, performance and growth management of our content provider partners
- Modelling: working with Data, Product and other functions, support the evolution of our Coverage Modelling capability to agreed goals and milestones
- Cost management: engage in or drive relevant initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs
- Risk management: ensure currency and effectiveness of operational risks and mitigation plans
- Growth: creates a Geospatial Content operations organisational roadmap to support current and future operational needs
- Resilience: designs a resilient and scalable organisation
- Culture: drives high engagement and a superb operations culture of exceptional performance, collaboration and teamwork
- Drive high performance and an engaged team through managing, coaching and providing timely and quality feedback
- Maintain team accountability with clear objectives, goals and processes that align with strategic business goals
- Effective talent management inclusive of recruiting and retaining high performers, developing talent and recognizing and rewarding performance
- Facilitate regular communications and meeting to increase team collaboration, discuss issues, share knowledge, celebrate achievements and provide training and direction
- Proven experience as a senior leader of complex technical operations
- Approximately 10 years of well-rounded high growth, senior leadership experience across strategy, technology, operations and delivery functions
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire an operations team through complex challenges and high rates of change and growth
- Strategic thinker and communicator
- Strong relationship management and contract negotiation skills
- Superb analytical skills
- Broad and solid technical and operations management skills
- Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills
- Positive and energetic
- Strong emotional intelligence
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Relevant education background at a Bachelor’s or Masters degree level (in fields such as Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics etc)
- ASPRS certification preferred but not essential
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning
