This Opportunity
WSP USA is currently initiating a search in our Northeast District for a Senior Vice President - Project Delivery Leader with experience in the transportation sector, focused in facilities, highway as well as rail/transit projects and programs. This position is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join a dynamic office team with experienced professionals in a leadership role. The position is based in the Glastonbury, CT office.
The Project Deliver Leader is responsible for supporting delivery for a diversified portfolio of clients and projects through all phases of project development, diversification and growth and driving strategic direction working closely with local and region managers and technical leads. The Project Delivery Leader will also work closely with business and technical leaders in other regions to collaborate on business development opportunities and strategies.
The Project Delivery Leader is responsible for a diverse range of delivery and business development activities that support the overall positioning of the company and contribute to achieving the Northeast District goals. Activities will have both internal and external elements. The external responsibilities will include developing and managing key client relationships, gathering and disseminating market/pursuit intelligence, building pipeline across all transportation market sectors, and maintaining a strong brand image within the industry. Internal responsibilities include managing projects and project teams, motivating and driving teams to achieve overall project delivery objectives, recruiting and deploying resources to successfully pursue specific projects and strategic opportunities, and contributing to the timely delivery of innovative and high-quality work products to support our clients and projects.
Your Impact
+ Project management including control of scope, schedule, budget and quality for assigned projects.
+ Maintain and grow existing client relationships and develop new client relationships and business leads.
+ Develop strategic alliances and project partners to secure new work.
+ Collaborate and coordinate with regional and local marketing teams and project pursuit teams.
+ Represent the firm in the transportation market through regular involvement in client and industry events and associations to promote intelligence gathering and pipeline development.
+ Inspire, motivate and promote the best of WSP to our clients and communities to ensure strong employee engagement and morale.
+ Advance the strategic direction of the Northeast region for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan.
+ Foster the development of new and emerging innovation to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry.
+ Be a recognized leader in the community.
+ Interface with local and district leadership as well as technical leads and staff across all business lines and practice areas (e.g., traffic, facilities, MEP, structural, bridge inspection, geospatial, geotechnical, planning, program/construction management, power, water, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects and pursuits.
+ Support programs such as Safety, Sustainability and Ethics & Compliance.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
+ 15+ years of experience in the Transportation Industry, focusing on a combination of any of the following: Project Management, Business Development, and Business and Operations Management.
+ Professional registration or certification in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Land Surveying, Business, Planning, or another related field is a plus.
+ Demonstrated balanced, solid management/leadership skills, including the ability to lead and develop staff.
+ Strong, established local client relationships and industry contacts.
+ Demonstrated and sound decision-making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities across a multi-disciplined practice.
+ Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects.
+ Proficient writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's Degree in a relevant field.
