WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to support our Northeast Water District which include offices in Providence RI, Boston MA, Shelton CT, and Glastonbury CT. The successful candidate will be involved in projects with our Water/Wastewater Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact
- Responsibilities include management of clients, projects, and staff involved in a variety of water and wastewater projects in the Northeast.
- Experience in projects that include water and wastewater conveyance, pumping and treatment, and public/private utility infrastructure, as well as experience in client development.
- Successful candidate will:
- Represent WSP in dealing directly with private and public clients.
- Provide oversite and management for a variety of planning, design and construction projects.
- Design treatment, distribution and conveyance, pumping and storage facilities and prepare detailed engineering and planning reports, construction drawings and specifications.
- Lead or support regulatory process with client and/or partners.
- Mentor, delegate and supervise tasks performed by engineering staff.
- Develop business through existing and new client relationships.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources or related fields.
- 7+ years’ experience in an engineering office with a focus on wastewater infrastructure design (sewers, pump station, wastewater treatment plant); and water infrastructure (water treatment, distribution and pump stations, and storage).
- Professional Engineering License (PE) in MA, RI, CT, or NY, or the ability to obtain a license within one year.
- Successful candidates must have the ability to work both independently and within a team environment with the capability to delegate and supervise tasks to support staff.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including pipe networks. Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, HydroCAD, and/or Plant 3D a plus.
- Strong writing skills to support technical reporting as well as strong oral communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated client relationship and project management experience.
- Ability to perform field work/site visits required and some travel required. Must possess a valid US driver's license. Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree is a plus.
- Current NCEES record is a plus.
