Senior X-Ray Technologist, (Up to $10K in Sign-On Bonus) #Full Time - 61st Street Service Corp

Job Summary:

The Senior X-Ray Radiology Technologist is an experienced professional with strong collaboration and leadership skills. In this role, the incumbent will support a collaborative team of technologists by providing day-to-day guidance and mentorship and supporting quality assurance and control activities. The incumbent will perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving X-ray images, and will be responsible for the care of the patient while in the X-ray area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and all faculty and staff.
• Perform X-rays and general radiological procedures:
  • Review imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information provided. Review all questionable orders with the radiologist and, at the radiologist’s discretion, the referring physician.
  • Position patient and select appropriate options to ensure best-case imaging.
  • Observe patient while in the X-ray area for change in status and make appropriate intervention or contact primary care givers for instruction.
  • Judge diagnostic quality of finished medical images prior to submission to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Offer detailed explanation of diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate.
  • Assist radiologist with fluoroscopic studies.
  • Assist physician in administering opaque media.
• Operate and maintain equipment on a daily basis, maintaining logbooks with equipment performance data: schedule PM, perform QA, maintain records required for and participate in inspections.
• Perform clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.
• Address any service calls and follow up as required or as directed, based on operational need.
• Other duties as assigned.

Role-Specific Duties

• Assist with onboarding and training of new or less experienced technologists. Share knowledge and offers guidance/mentorship to facilitate team collaboration and a supportive environment.
• May assist manager to ensure adequate coverage and address related issues as directed
• Participate in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care. Bring safety and quality events, concerns and needs to debriefs/safety huddles. Collaborate with team members on quality-related projects.
• Assist manager on Quality Control and Assurance measures, including testing and auditing as appropriate.
• Increase transparency, encourage event reporting, and advance the safety culture by participating in and facilitating safety huddles, patient safety activities, culture reinforcement, and shared learning.

Job Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalency required.
• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience, including exposure to a wide range of X-ray studies required.
• NYS License, ARRT certified required.
• Current BLS required.
• Demonstrated leadership proficiency in a team environment, including communication, training/knowledge-sharing, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated participation in continuous improvement or quality initiatives.
• Must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong ability to deescalate stressful situations.
• Candidate must demonstrate strong aptitude for detail, flexibility, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be able to make sound judgments and execute the appropriate actions based on the needs of patients and knowledge of facility policies and procedures.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email systems, etc.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $44.14 - $52.07

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
