Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Modeling Simulation & Analysis Principal Engineer - AVE Horizontal Integration for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division Engineering and Manufacturing team. This role will be in Roy, UT and will provide enabling support for all business areas within the SDS portfolio. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do: 

As an integral part of our AVE MS&A Horizontal Integration team on the Sentinel program you will focus on driving operational and technical efforts and initiatives across the MS&A department and broader AVE Systems Engineering & Integration organization.

Basic Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Masters
• 1 year of technical experiences in mechanical/aerospace product development
• 1 year of experience with MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Software)
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles
• Self-starter with strong technical problem-solving skills, an aptitude for coordination across diverse teams to drive efforts to closure
• Broad technical experiences in mechanical/aerospace engineering of missiles/launch vehicles
• Experience in systems engineering principles including requirements development, decomposition and allocation, MBSE (CAMEO or similar)
• Experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) verification and validation (MIL-STD 3022)
• Experience with physical testing, instrumentation, Design of Experiments
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
