Poindexter & Co is currently seeking a Production Scheduler that will be responsible for performing the production scheduling for one or more facilities.
The Nuts and Bolts:
Instrumental in collaborating with all levels of the company to plan, set, and support a Sales and Operations Production plan
Perform the production scheduling to maximize on-time delivery, productivity, inventory turns, gross profit, etc; utilize level loading practices for production lines by using plant loading tools and lean methodology
Establish commitment (promise ship) dates for scheduled sales orders
Works directly with manufacturing to support customer on-time delivery
Will work with the sales department and Corporate Master scheduling to set long term production schedules and commitments for high volume orders
Communicates with respective departments on any schedule changes that will adversely affect overall schedule execution or customer expectation
Works directly with the Materials management team and fellow associates to ensure that raw materials and customer supplied items are available to support the production schedule
Required Credentials:
BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or related field (preferred).
Strong understanding of production scheduling in a make-to-order environment with 5+ years scheduling experience.
Knowledge of MPS/MRP systems
Experience with AS/400 a plus.
The ability to adapt in a very fluid and cyclical environment.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
Moderate user of Microsoft Office tools, with an emphasis on Excel.
Moderate travel up to 25% may be required.
APICS CPIM certification a plus.
