Title: Server Analyst

"As a Level 1 Server Analyst, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for server environments. This includes monitoring server performance, diagnosing and resolving basic server issues, and assisting with the implementation and maintenance of server systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in server administration, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Server Monitoring and Maintenance:
Monitor server performance using monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Perform routine server maintenance tasks, including applying patches and updates.
Technical Support:
Provide first-level support for server-related issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
Assist in the resolution of server incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
Configuration and Installation:
Support the configuration and installation of server hardware and software.
Assist with server setup and deployment for new applications and services.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of server configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
Create and update knowledge base articles and technical documentation.
Backup and Recovery:
Ensure regular backups are performed and verify the integrity of backup data.
Assist with disaster recovery procedures and restore operations as needed.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service and support to end-users, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams as required.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other IT team members to resolve server issues and implement improvements.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master'sdegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a server support or IT support role.
Familiarity with server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) and server hardware.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of server monitoring tools and techniques.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Proficiency in command-line interfaces (CLI) for server management.
Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals) are a plus."
