Position Summary:The Server Assistant is a crucial member of the restaurant's service team, responsible for assisting the servers at all times delivering food and drink orders to customers seated and bussing and cleaning tables as guest finish eating.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $10.65 plus tips.

About the Venue:Peak is a premium restaurant located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards, in a State-of-the-Art building with panoramic views and situated above Edge, the highest outdoor observation deck in the city. A luxurious destination with breath-taking views of lower New York City.
Objectives:
• Working closely with the servers and kitchen staff, the Server Assistant plays a key supporting role in ensuring a positive dining experience for customers.
• Their primary responsibilities include; deliver food and drinks to the guest on a timely matter, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, assisting servers with various tasks, and providing excellent customer service.
• The Server Assistant is to bridge the gap between the kitchen and the customers by delivering food promptly and providing excellent customer service.
Food and Beverage Support:
• Collect prepared food items from the kitchen and ensure their safe transportation to seating areas.
• Verify that the food being delivered matches the order details, paying attention to special requests, allergies, or dietary restrictions.
• Deliver food promptly to customers while it is still fresh and hot, ensuring that they receive their orders in a timely manner.
• Assist picking up drink orders at the bar and delivering them to the guest.
• Table Preparation and Resetting: set up tables with clean utensils and condiments before guests arrive.
• Clear and reset tables promptly after customers have finished dining.
• Ensure tables are properly arranged and presentable for the next guests.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the outdoor dining area, clearing empty plates, utensils, and other waste from tables when necessary.
• Collaborate with the kitchen staff, servers, bartenders and other restaurant personnel to ensure smooth and coordinated service.
Dining Area Maintenance:
• Regularly check and clean dining tables, chairs, and surrounding areas to maintain cleanliness and a neat appearance.
• Empty and clean garbage cans before, during and after each shift.
• Wipe down tables and cleaning debris around dining area and sitting down guest.
• Assist with general cleaning tasks as needed, including restocking supplies, cleaning glassware, and bar.
• Collect all recyclable garbage disposables and place on assigned garbage.
• Assist in maintaining an adequate supply of disposable plates, containers and utensils.
Customer Service:
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, delivering food/drinks with a positive attitude describing each item mentioning the main components.
• Familiarize yourself with the menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to answer basic customer inquiries accurately.
• Relay customer feedback or specific requests to the kitchen or serving staff, ensuring effective communication between all team members.
Health and Safety:
• Adhere to proper food handling and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, following local health regulations and restaurant policies.
• Upselling Opportunities: Identify upselling opportunities by recommending additional menu items or beverages to enhance the customer's dining experience.
• Prior experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred, especially in a similar customer service role.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry food trays or plates, and navigate outdoor spaces comfortably.
• Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with customers and effectively relay information to team members.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with the kitchen and serving staff to provide seamless service.
• A friendly and approachable demeanor with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as outdoor dining may be popular during these times.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items.
