SUMMARY:
The Service Advisor is primarily responsible for acting as a liaison between the customer and the autobody technician advocating for the customer and advising them about necessary service for their vehicle. The Service Advisor will perform a thorough vehicle walk through inspection as part of the write-up and keep the customer updated on the status of their vehicle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that the customer receives prompt, courteous and effective service.
- Works with the shop staff in examining all parts of a vehicle that appear to be damaged that require repair, replacement, or repainting
- Provides the estimate to the customer of the cost of labor and car parts to repair
- Communicates to customer in a professional manner the work needed for vehicle and answers any questions that the customer may have about vehicle, costs etc.
- Draft work order with required repair and enter it into CollisionRight’s system
- Keep a record of all purchases and repairs in company file
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Possesses strong problem-solving and listening skills
- Solid working knowledge of the processes, techniques and materials used in repairing automotive equipment with a minimum of 1 year of experience working in the automotive repair and sales industry
- Possess a strong attention to detail
- Strength to perform average lifting up to 35 pounds and occasionally over 70 pounds
- Demonstrated agility, equilibrium and coordination as required when climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and balancing under precarious conditions
- Strong arm, hand and finger dexterity with demonstrated physical capacity to reach, handle, finger and feel
- Strong negotiation skills along with a commitment to servicing the customer
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
