Join our Service department as a key point of contact for our customers! As a Service Advisor, you will be the first person our customers engage with, both in-person and over the phone. You'll play a critical role in documenting repair needs, listening to customer concerns, and conducting initial equipment inspections to kickstart the assessment process. Our Service Advisors excel in customer service, ensuring every customer feels welcomed and valued.
*This position will work Monday-Friday 5:30am-3pm.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Welcome customers to our Service department and provide immediate assistance.
- Create detailed repair orders and schedule service appointments using our Dealer Management System and digital tools.
- Conduct initial interviews with drivers to understand their concerns, perform preliminary inspections, and accurately record information for the repair order.
- Verify account details, check for recalls, review repair histories, and confirm warranty coverages.
- Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the service process to ensure transparency and satisfaction.
- Prepare sublet purchase orders for towing charges.
- Obtain necessary approvals to initiate repairs and coordinate with the Service Dispatcher for vehicle assessments.
- Guide customers on dealership amenities and arrange shuttle services for those waiting on-site.
- Collaborate with the Dispatch team to manage the logistics of vehicle pick-up and delivery.
- Monitor customer feedback and proactively address any areas for improvement to maintain high customer satisfaction with Truck Centers, Inc.
- Leverage strong communication skills to explain repair processes, address questions, and guide customers through the service experience with a focus on solutions and efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with ability to meet insurance requirements is required; CDL preferred
- Minimum of 1 year mechanical, trucking, or dealer service experience; 2+ years preferred
- Knowledge of Service department operations, trucks, and truck parts
- Mechanical aptitude or truck repair experience is highly preferred
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal communications skills, even in times of stress
- Strong organization and time management skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and a solution-focused outlook
- Knowledge of computer operations, tablets, data entry, and MS Office with 30wpm typing capability; Procede software experience is a plus
- Candidates with Freightliner dealership experience and/or CIC Level I or II training are strongly encouraged to apply
- Must participate in a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
