Job Summary:&
The Service Engineer 2 will serve as the key liaison between the field test fleets of vehicles and engineering teams, ensuring the fleet remains operational by managing and resolving issues.&
This position is critical to overseeing the resolution of technical problems and ensuring communication between field service teams and engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a technical liaison between the Cummins field service organization and Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
Identify, define, and prioritize product problems, implementing solutions for Midrange engines.
Provide project management for any issues encountered by the test fleet vehicles.
Assist in failure analysis for Midrange engine components to support warranty and engineering problem definitions.
Participate in customer and distributor meetings to investigate problems, discuss solutions, and provide training.
Support product development teams by installing field test engines/components and monitoring reliability data.
Contribute to the development and revision of service literature, ensuring the serviceability of new components.
Manage multiple work assignments in a dynamic environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar).
2-4 years of relevant job experience.
Strong project management, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work assignments.
Proficiency in PC skills such as Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of internal combustion engines and engine systems.
Experience with Six Sigma (Green Belt certification is a plus).
Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis.
Previous experience with technical documentation and service literature development.
