Position Overview:
As the Service Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of our service department. You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled technicians, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maximizing the efficiency and profitability of the service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering top-notch service.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Led, mentored, and motivated a team of automotive technicians to achieve high levels of productivity and efficiency.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, and expectations, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
Customer Service:
- Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring that every customer receives a positive and satisfying experience.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
- Implement and maintain efficient processes to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage the service department's budget, including expenses, inventory, and revenue.
- Implement strategies to increase service department profitability.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of service and repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Vendor and Inventory Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability of parts and minimize excess inventory.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that the service department complies with all safety regulations and industry standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Service Manager in an auto repair shop.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in using automotive service management software.
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
