Service Manager
Job Description: Oversee and manage trailer service operations, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the service centers. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of leadership, operational, and customer-focused duties, as outlined below.
Areas of Responsibility and Duties:
• Leadership and Management
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the trailer service departments, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and objectives.
• Monitor and assess branch performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing effective strategies.
• Operational Oversight:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service centers, ensuring smooth workflow, optimal resource allocation, and timely completion of repairs and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Branded Service Manager to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Implement and enforce standardized processes, procedures, and safety protocols to enhance operational excellence.
• Quality Control:
• Ability to identify and correct issues with repairs performed to meet quality standards.
• Customer Relationship Management:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including large freight companies and private enterprises, to understand their needs and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors to address customer inquiries, concerns, and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Team Development and Training:
• Mentor and develop other team members, providing guidance, coaching, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
• Coordinate training initiatives to ensure technicians stay up to date with industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices.
• Financial Management:
• Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage budgets for the trailer service departments, optimizing resource allocation and cost efficiency.
• Monitor financial performance, analyzing key metrics and reports to make informed decisions that contribute to the department's profitability.
• Vendor and Supplier Relations:
• Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of quality parts and materials required for repairs and maintenance.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favorable arrangements for the service centers.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and automation to streamline operations and enhance service quality.
• Lead and support initiatives to drive operational efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and increase overall customer satisfaction.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements within the trailer service departments.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve any safety or compliance issues promptly.
• Reporting and Communication:
• Prepare regular reports on departmental performance, presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders as needed.
• Foster clear and open communication channels across the service centers, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Crisis Management:
• Act swiftly and decisively in response to unexpected events or emergencies, effectively managing crises and minimizing disruptions to operations.

Physical Demands/Abilities performed throughout the duration of the work shift:
? Heavy Work- Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including other job related items.

? Vision – Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing electronic devices, assembling, inspecting small parts and/or operating machines and power tools, operate a motor vehicle and determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work performed.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a shop; both indoors and outdoors. Activities occur inside and outside and are subject to work environments that are not climate controlled, weather, and hot/cold temperature changes, dirt, dust, soot and possibly mold, loud noise, and ladders to use for high heights. Potential hazards such as moving vehicles, proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, high places, high heat, and exposure to chemicals, atmospheric conditions (e.g. fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases), or poor ventilation, or a workspace may be exposed to smoke residue, mold and mildew, contaminated water, or other unsanitary conditions as well as being in closed quarters/confined spaces (e.g. crawl spaces, small, enclosed rooms, attics, etc.) This is not an all-inclusive list of every job duty affiliated with the SERVICE MANAGER position and Dallas Trailer Repair Co reserves the right to assign additional tasks and responsibilities as needed
