THE OPPORTUNITY
We are searching for a Service Manager to join our growing Electric Power operations in Louisiana.
YOU
The Service Manager will be based out of Harvey Louisiana and is accountable for all aspects of the Electric Power Service Department which plays a vital role in the overall success of Louisiana Cat. The Service Manager must possess the skills necessary to ensure efficient shop operations and have a mindset rooted in continuous improvement. The ability to multi-task is a necessity.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION
- You will provide leadership and direction as required to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction, employee engagement and profitability.
- You will be responsible for the Electric Power Service Department’s P&L.
- You will conduct regular staff meetings to coordinate activities, provide guidance, gather information, and communicate company strategy.
- You will manage the day-to-day activities of the Electric Power Service Department team.
- You will manage a preventive maintenance schedule for customers under PM contracts.
- You will manage the work order process from opening jobs to final invoices.
- You will develop customer quotes for complex jobs and execute the approval process.
- You will maintain communication with customers regarding the status of services being performed on their equipment.

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS
- REQUIRED: 5 years of relevant management or industry related experience.
- REQUIRED: Computer skills including advanced skills and experience with MS Office software to include MS Excel program and spreadsheets, MS Outlook, MS Word, and the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- REQUIRED: Exceptional communication, management, leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- REQUIRED: Ability to carry on effective, written and spoken, communication with customers to maintain a high level of customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- REQUIRED: Ability to work well and collaborate with vendors, Caterpillar Corporate, and other departments within Louisiana Cat.
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Previous experience as an Equipment Manager or Service Manager/Supervisor in a related industry is a plus.
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Working knowledge of Caterpillar programs DBS, SIS 2.0, SMISi and TMI, and other systems such as Service Link, Sales Link, and Salesforce is a plus.
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Technical knowledge of engines, generators, control systems, automatic transfer switches and paralleling switchgear.
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Working knowledge of P&L and basic financial statements
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Ability to understand, interpret and leverage performance metrics related to efficiency, productivity, profitability safety, market share, resource deployment, and general operations.
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations as they relate to the industry.
JOB FACTS
- WORK HOURS: The Service Manager generally works 10-hour weekdays, some Saturdays and be on call to dispatch technicians.
- Will require some occasional travel
