About the Job
Essential Job Functions
- Schedule service technicians daily in an efficient manner
- Respond to incoming service related calls
- Handle external customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Provide technical assistance to direct report field technicians
- Prepare quotations of all service related projects and follow up on a weekly basis. Projects include emergency calls, scheduled service calls, and preventative maintenance agreements.
- Monitor all daily invoicing and supervise the work in progress (WIP) report on a daily basis
- Ensure all Tampa/S FL branch service technicians have what they need to perform their jobs on schedule
- Work closely with the Generator parts department to make sure all parts are on hand for service jobs
- Monitor and schedule all periodic maintenance agreements
- Input service data in business operating systems
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Maintain effective productivity and grow the service department business by meeting and exceeding department goals
Additional Job Functions
- May be required to conduct out of town business or attend training
- May be required to support the sales and parts department during special circumstances such as vacation coverage or position vacancies
- Evaluate and reestablish yearly work goals

Required Experience:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical and work environment)
- Computer literacy is required, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to handle working in a NON-climate controlled environment whether at customer site or in branch warehouse
- Required to wear proper PPE (personal protective equipment) as applicable
- Working knowledge of a database business systems
- Incorporate time management skills on a continuous basis
- Well developed sales skills including excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic mechanical and technical aptitude
- Proven interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers
- Basic marketing knowledge
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must operate forklift vehicle
- Must be able to handle high pressure situations and adapt well to organizational and market changes
Minimum Job Qualifications (education, work experience, licenses/certifications)
- Bachelor’s degree, or 5 to 7 years of service and management experience (industrial experience preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 to 5 years of generator technician experience
