About the Job
A ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, configuring, and customizing the ServiceNow platform to meet the specific needs of an organization. This role involves developing workflows, enhancing existing modules, integrating external systems, and ensuring that the ServiceNow platform supports the overall IT service management strategy. The developer works closely with other IT professionals, business stakeholders, and users to ensure the platform meets business objectives efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow solutions based on business requirements.
- Develop ServiceNow applications, modules, and workflows using JavaScript, Glide, HTML, and AngularJS.
- Customize and configure IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and ServiceNow modules like Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Knowledge Management.
- Create and maintain ServiceNow integrations with other systems using REST, SOAP, and other APIs.
- Implement, maintain, and optimize ServiceNow ITOM, ITBM, HR Service Delivery, or other modules as needed.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specs, code comments, and test plans.
- Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure platform stability and compliance with best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and provide ongoing support for ServiceNow users.
- Participate in platform upgrades, patch management, and security compliance activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience as a ServiceNow Developer with a deep understanding of the platform.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS, with experience in developing custom applications in ServiceNow.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow integration using REST/SOAP APIs and data import/export.
- Experience with ITIL processes and IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices.
- Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow certifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA): Foundational certification for managing and configuring the platform.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD): For developing custom applications on the platform.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS): Specialized certification for implementing specific ServiceNow modules (e.g., ITSM, ITOM, HRSD).
- Experience with ServiceNow ITOM, ITBM, HRSD, or GRC modules.
- Experience in cloud-based infrastructure and DevOps practices.
Salary
120,000 - 160,000 /year
