About the Job
WEG Electric Corp. has an excellent opportunity for a Service Supervisor - Motors. Supervises warranty and field service activities by developing and maintaining the necessary resources. Serves as liaison between outside repair shop network, customers and factories.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drives improvements by recommending measures to review the processes, the performance of the team, the response time and the overall quality of service.
- Establishes short- and medium-term goals for both himself and the team.
- Keeps and promotes good communication with customers, peers and team members.
- Promotes and monitors the development of the team members and himself by establishing and coordinating a training plan.
- Provides technical support to team and customers.
- Establishes and supports relationships with outside repair shops for the product lines marketed by WEG. This includes evaluation, selection, accreditation and training of these shops.
- Leads by example, being the reference for the team members on both the technical and administrative aspects.
- Performs monthly quality reviews and failure analysis on OEM customers.
- Supervises warranty administration, including warranty claim processing, cost estimates, repair authorization and warranty reporting to WEG Brazil.
- Has direct responsibility for all assigned team members.
- Keeps the Service Manager informed on performance, operations, and team status at all times
- Recommends measures to improve warranty methods, performance, and quality of service.
- Interacts with all other department Supervisors/Managers to improve relationships and communication between departments for both internal and external teams.
- Negotiates open billings and payments with customer and suppliers.
- Participates in special projects, focused on department-level improvements.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance. Responsible for addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from a four-year college or university or university program certificate or equivalent in related experience
Knowledge / training:
- Process Flow Mapping and Quality Tools.
- Use of diagnostic tools and equipment, required.
- Reading schematics and drawings, required.
- Electric Motors and Drives.
- Vibration analysis (for motors).
- Understanding of industrial applications, as appropriate for specific product groups.
- People management.
- Intermediate level of MS Office Suite
- Teaching others on departmental and company strategy, as well as describing the effect of actions, required
Experience:
- 3 years relevant experience
