GENERAL FUNCTION
Performs service and repair work in Service Department to stated specifications, and assists in customer inquiries to assure proper repair procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs service and repair work on customers’ equipment and used equipment within Service Department.
- Performs troubleshooting support via telephone and email to customer and co-workers with a high level of professionalism and courtesy.
- Completes Service Reports; details product problems encountered, service work completed, and replacement parts used.
- Prepares service estimates for parts, labor, and shipping. Obtains customer authorization for service work to be completed based upon estimated costs.
- Achieves and maintains proper repair work standards to stated specifications.
- Investigates warranty claims by providing written reports and testimony about product failure.
- Continually review and improve processes to simplify jobs.
- Performs quality audits as requested.
- Maintains work area in a neat, clean and organized condition.
- Understands and follows all company policies and procedures and assures compliance of all attendance and safety rules & regulations.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and HIPAA protected information.
- Willingly assists others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines or maintain even workload.
- Provides proper training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced coworkers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong technical background required including mechanical and electrical experience
- Minimum two years of work experience in service-related role
- Well organized and able to handle detailed work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness, and adaptability
- High school diploma and knowledge in electronics or mechanics.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently without much supervision
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
- driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to effectively manage time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of experience in repair, maintenance and installation of electronic, optical, electromechanical, or equivalent equipment
- Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment
- Technical or trade school training preferred
- Working knowledge of the equipment needed for the job
