About the Job
The general role of the Service Technician – Electrical Services is to serve as an electrical technical expert that provides physical labor and electrical support to a wide range of construction trades through various electrical, construction, and industrial projects. The Service Technician will be a working Technician that participates in, leads, and directs the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electrical components and applications ranging from low to high voltage. Such applications include, but are not limited to: Industrial Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, Commercial, Residential, etc.
This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial electrical work and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation. This position will require a flexible schedule that includes extensive travel and out-of-town work and must be willing to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
What You'll Do:- Provide high level technical electrical knowledge, support, and labor to electrical operations as needed
- Perform electrical installs, repairs, trouble shooting, and general labor as required
- Read and understand electrical meters
- Read and understand electrical drawings and manuals
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Provide detailed paperwork, and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner
- Follow proper safety and incident reporting procedures
- Provide support and supervision for Electrical Services employees
- Provide consultation to Electrical staff and customers
- Price, quote, and participate in bidding efforts
- Work on-call and demonstrate commitment to the job
- Assist Project Managers with procuring electrical permits
- Sit, talk, hear, read, write and type
- Walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations
- Work at heights
- Work a flexible schedule, overtime, and be willing to travel
- Without exception, be safety and customer-focused
- Work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment with flexibility and motivation
- Work in harsh weather conditions as needed
- A minimum of (3-5) years of electrical experience or equivalent/relevant education and experience preferred
- Expert knowledge of Industrial Electrical Services is preferred
- Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, and PLC programming is preferred
- Read and understand technical manuals
- Experience with project estimating
- Proficient with drawings and electrical calculations
- MSHA-WV Electrical License is preferred
- Journeyman’s license or higher is preferred
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
- Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate constructive problem solving
- Adaptable and calm under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a schedule
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient with Electrical AutoCAD preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
