Service Technician Trainee - Holt of California

This Position is Located in NATOMAS/SACRAMENTO CA.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the installation, service, and repair of GPS and laser based positioning & data products on various makes and models of construction equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and repair construction technology equipment, with emphasis on Laser, GPS, and Robotic controls.
• Prepare accurate estimates for customer repairs.
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met.
• Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with Operator Training.
• Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area.
• Assist with ordering parts and organizing the parts warehouse.
• Data entry as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

TECHNICHAL SKILLS AND SPECIAL TRAINING AND/OR ABILITIES

• Knowledge of and experience with GPS & Laser Machine Control Products including (but not limited to):
• Construction or Agricultural equipment mechanical background
• Welding certification or ability to demonstrate welding proficiency
• Caterpillar AccuGrade, Trimble or Topcon GPS and or laser systems
• Working knowledge of hydraulic system installation and repair
• Ability to read and understand wiring schematics used in installation and troubleshooting
• Proficient use of computer, MS Office Suite Software (Excel, Word, Access, etc.), email, scheduling, and Trimble/Caterpillar Warranty Tracking.

SKILLS

• Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school or GED and One or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid driver license and a clean DMV driving report.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

COMPENSATION

Pay Range: $23 - $28 Hourly.

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
