Summary:
The Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Administrator role encompasses all elements of CMDB development and health. This includes the design, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of CMDB processes, and facilitating the implementation of CMDB tools in ServiceNow. The CMDB Administrator has a key role in creating value and achieving business goals through IT service management practices.
The CMDB Administrator will facilitate CMDB design, practices, and policies as well as lead day-to-day operations in the CMDB space. The Administrator will work with a variety of teams to achieve goals. These teams are functional teams within RUSH Digital and Information Services, project teams, ServiceNow, and ServiceNow development teams.

Required Job Qualifications:
• At least five years of related experience in the design and maintenance of a CMDB in a complex environment.
• CMDB experience in ServiceNow.
• Experience with ServiceNow’s Discovery and Service mapping.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• ITIL certifications or related IT Service Management credentials
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar is preferred.
Competencies:
Ability to learn new concepts, systems, and technologies.
Knowledge of the Common Service Data Model.
This position requires working with great attention to detail, high level problem-solving ability, and an analytical approach to implementing solutions.
The Administrator must be able to work within a complex, and sometimes ambiguous, environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities:
• Guide and facilitate design, implementation, maintenance, and governance of the CMDB.
• Create workflows that support the design, implementation, and operation of key business capabilities.
• Create and maintain a services-oriented taxonomy resolving in consumable service offerings.
• Oversee implementation of CMDB requirements in ServiceNow.
• Ensure CI structure meets the needs of the organization.
• Implement/maintain tools, such as Discovery, according to best practices.
• Engage with project teams to deliver required functionality within project time frames.
• Conduct research and maintain knowledge to ensure best practices are in place.
• Achieve established goals and derive value from service management practices.
• Create oversight and governance structures for data integrity in the CMDB.
• Maintain day-to-day operations of CMDB.
• Fulfill service requests as assigned.
• Coordinate CMDB-related reporting and data analysis.
• Collect and report on metrics.
• Identify noncompliance situations.
• Perform CMDB audits.
• Identify improvement opportunities.
• All activities will be done in compliance with the most current Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Common Services Data Model (CSDM) frameworks.
