- Strategic Partnership & Customer Engagement:
- Collaborate closely with the Customer Enterprise Architect (EA) to align ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery solutions with organizational objectives.
- Partner with the EA to ensure the CMDB Roadmap is realistic and aligned with a properly measured CMDB maturity model.
- Provide expert guidance without overshadowing the EA's leadership, ensuring a balanced approach to achieving shared goals.
- Platform Development & Enhancement:
- Design, implement, and configure ServiceNow CMDB, bridging gaps with necessary Discovery solutions.
- Focus on CMDB capabilities and dependencies related to ITSM, ITOM, and SecOps where necessary.
- Identify and adopt CMDB baseline configurations, and revert customizations as needed to support broader objectives.
- Application Support:
- Provide expert-level support for the configuration and customization of the ServiceNow CMDB.
- Ensure configurations do not negatively impact dependencies with other ServiceNow applications.
- Support the Discovery team in identifying and resolving gaps, ensuring effective implementation and understanding of all available discovery tools.
- Automation & Integration:
- Develop workflows, scripts, and integrations to automate routine tasks, streamline processes, and enhance platform efficiency.
- Agile Methodology:
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, supporting story point estimation and managing stories through their lifecycle.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Deliver expert troubleshooting for complex platform issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution.
- Best Practices & Documentation:
- Advocate for ServiceNow development best practices and thoroughly document implementations, ensuring easy knowledge transfer and system maintenance.
- Mentorship & Training:
- Mentor internal team members and customer personnel, facilitating knowledge transfer and guiding best practices for Discovery and CMDB.
Specific Considerations:
- Gap Resolution & Team Collaboration:
- Identify and resolve gaps in existing Discovery processes on behalf of the CMDB team, fostering a cohesive and efficient operational environment.
- Customer Guidance:
- Provide strategic partnership, bridging knowledge gaps and delivering strong yet empathetic guidance to customers, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
- Delegated Administration:
- Operate within strict access limitations in UAT and Production environments, ensuring secure and compliant operations while delivering robust platform development and support.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in operations, business management, technology strategy, project management, or policy development.
- Technical Expertise:
- Extensive knowledge in ITIL and ITSM processes, with hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer/Engineer.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow modules, JavaScript, AngularJS, REST APIs, and web technologies.
- Certifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator is required.
- Additional certifications such as ServiceNow Certified Application Developer and Certified Implementation Specialist in Discovery or ITSM are highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving, process improvement, and change management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapting the communication style to the audience.
- Essential hands-on technical skills.
Clearance Requirement
- Active DOD SECRET security clearance or higher (interim is acceptable).
