General Job Description
- The Setup Technician is responsible for setting up multiple work centers in a given day. This group is skilled enough that it is not cost-effective to have them operate, but lack the technical skills or experience of a Journeyman. They tend to difficult jobs and advanced machine centers while providing support to lower-level employees across the shop.
Duties & Responsibilities
- They tend to difficult jobs and advanced processes in multiple work centers while providing support to lower-level employees across the shop. Their training revolves around ensuring that employees are getting a Lean operation that is both safe and productive at the same time.
- Make basic work holding for a waterjet
- Removing finished component from holding fixture and examine for defects and completeness of operation
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Training & Experience
- Training usually includes multiple topics that aren't usually taken by the majority of Operators or Set Up Operators. These include areas of Safety, Quality and productivity.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Capabilities: Basic knowledge of manufacturing principles, advanced machine knowledge, advanced problem solving, advanced drawing reading, advanced use of inspection instruments, advanced use of hand tools, interpret written instructions, basic programming skills.
- Able to read and interpret prints
- Able to perform basic machine maintenance on a flow mach 4
- Ability to inspect work using calipers, gage pins and other standard inspection equipment
- Aid in the development and writing of work instructions or processes
- Light water jet programming is a plus

Day Shift: 5:00am-1:30pm
Shift: 1:30pm-10:00pm
