Our automotive manufacturing client in the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking a talented Set Up Technician for all shifts for direct hire. The Set Up Technician will be responsible for setting up and maintaining production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Set up and maintain production equipment, including presses, stamping machines, and robotics.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues with equipment.
- Collaborate with production team members to optimize manufacturing processes and minimize downtime.
- Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Document equipment maintenance and repair activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on equipment setup and maintenance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as schematics and blueprints.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a noisy and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
