Job Title : Set up / Run Operator - 2nd shift
General Description :
Set-up production machinery to produce parts per specifications which includes, but is not limited to press brake, punch press (includes single, gang and CNC type), tube bender, riveter, wire straightener, and all other machinery used to fabricate quality sheet metal and wire products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Retrieves router from Production Control and determines material needs and tools required.
- Sets up machinery per the specifications according to production schedule.
- Runs first part for production and assure proper dimensions. Submits first article for ISIR approval. Complete proper documentation for set up (i.e., Quality Verification Sheet, Set Up Record, Control Plan, Router).
- Adheres to all safety guidelines.
- Operates machinery according to production schedule.
- Inspects parts for proper dimensions utilizing ISIR control plan.
- Scans jobs and quantities produced into JDE.
- Conducts destructive weld test, if applicable.
- Completes proper documentation (identify / label parts, router, verification sheet, and Set Up Record).
- Maintains a clean work environment.
- Communicates any problems with machinery or tooling to supervisor, group or team leader.
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned. Assist in material handling duties, when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Ability to use measuring tools (i.e., tape measures, micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to use read blueprints.
- Ability to operate an industrial forklift.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Reading and basic math skills.
- Ability to think analytically and be self-motivated.
- Close attention and care is required to prevent damage to complex machine tools. Ability to work overtime on short notice.
Physical Demands - Employees in this position frequently:
- Stand and walk
- Ability to lift or move typically 20-50 lbs.
- Other physical demands - stooping, kneeling, handling, etc.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Education
- Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to understand English
