We are currently seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Apprentice to join our team in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The Sheet Metal Apprentice will assist Sheet Metal Mechanics in fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products. Working under the supervision of experienced technicians, the apprentice will learn to handle metal materials, operate tools, and follow blueprints and specifications to ensure precision and high-quality workmanship. This position provides an opportunity to develop essential skills in the sheet metal trade, while actively contributing to the team's success and project efficiency.
Primary Duties
- Assist Sheet Metal Mechanics with the installation, modification, and repair of sheet metal products, HVAC ducts, and hoods by following blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Help plan and organize tasks, materials, tools, and equipment to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Participate in assembling and insulating sheet metal components, including soldering, bolting, and inspecting assemblies for compliance with specifications.
- Conduct operational checks on duct systems and other sheet metal installations to verify quality and identify any corrective actions needed.
Skills/Qualifications
- Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required for certain projects.
- Valid Driver's License with the ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
- Experience in commercial sheet metal duct installation and fabrication is a plus.
- Dependable and punctual, with a strong commitment to arriving on time each day.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately, troubleshoot problems, and follow established procedures.
- Experience or ability to braze, solder, weld, and perform minor field fabrication.
- Proficient in using hand tools, such as tape measures, cutting tools, and drills for hole cutting and other tasks.
