Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder Trainee - Panduit

What You Will Do

The Sheet Metal Fabricator - Welder utilizes various sheet metal forming, cutting and welding techniques to produce durable, high-quality components. Must have attention to detail, ability to interpret blueprints, and understanding of safety & quality standards.

• Fabricate and weld various materials to produce parts/weldments based on blueprints/job orders.
• Finish welds using files, power hand grinders, and sanders.
• Cut steel with an acetylene and plasma torch.
• Utilize measuring tools (ruler, caliper, height gauge, micrometer & protractor).
• Learn to operate & program a CNC Waterjet.
• Learn to utilize a manual drill press, manual mill (Bridgeport), manual lathe and horizontal & vertical band saws, hole tapping & fastener insertion machines.
• Learn CAD software basics.
• Operate a forklift.
• Ensure safety regulations, quality standards and housekeeping requirements are met.

What You Will Bring

• Actively attending or having completed a hands-on welding course.
• Some experience in GMAW & GTAW is required. Experience welding sheet metal in steel & aluminum is a plus.
• Ability to read basic blueprints.
• Ability to utilize common hand & power tools.
• Confidence using a Windows computer.
• Ability to lift 45 lbs unassisted.
