Responsibilities You will review blueprints, assess item/system to be repaired and determine the sequence or operations, plan the work, select material, method and machines to use. You will receive assignments, general instructions or work order from supervisor. You will have completed work spot checked by supervisor to ensure the work is accurate and meets quality standards. You will be required to comply with Tool Control Program, Personal Protective Equipment, Fall protection, Heavy Metals, etc. You will provide a Foreign Object Debris (FOD)-free, clean work area and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Reviewing blueprints, assess item/system to be repaired and determine the sequence or operations, plan the work, select material, method and machines to use; 2) Recognizing various size bolts, screws, rivets and all fasteners associated with the aircraft trade; 3) Demonstrating knowledge to calculate irregular angles and curves, plan and layout work, and develop patterns and templates; 4) Exhibiting the skills to recognize the characteristics and properties of any metals used in the trade, e.g stainless steel, magnesium, honeycomb. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. The position often requires irregular hours. This position requires rotating shift work. .This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
