A Baja Fresh Assistant Manager is responsible for setting the tone for a shift. They should not only fit the ideal Team Member description but should live out those qualities as an example to the Team Members they are leading. Assistant Managers should understand that the job will require them to work flexible hours that will include opening and closing shifts. They should be available to close the store a minimum of three nights a week, even if they are not scheduled to do so. Assistant Managers need to have an awareness of what is happening in all areas of the store during their shift and take initiative to proactively avoid foreseeable issues. An Assistant Manager’s role is to lead the Team Members to ensure the Guests are being served efficiently and run a smooth and productive shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure every shift is safe- Team Members, Guests, Food
- Primarily responsible for leading daily operations
- Coach Leadership Development Candidates
- Responsible for minor discipline of Team Members
- Primarily responsible for completing Team Member Evaluations
- Create systems to maximize efficiency
- Ensure all quality management systems are used consistently (QSC, daily critical, etc.)
- Monitor labor, day to day
- Monitor use of cost saving practices
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities
- Promptly communicate maintenance issues
- Ensure proper cash handling practices
- Preparation for next shift (set the next shift up for success)
EDUCATION
High School Diploma Required. College Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Experience working in a fast paced, Customer Service Oriented Environment with attention to detail, cleanliness and Customer Satisfaction
- Money Management Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a restaurant environment
- Experience supervising and training staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable Transportation
- Leadership Training
- ServSafe Certified
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift between 10 and 30 pounds on occasion
- Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
