Shift Leader- Fast Casual Restaurant - Alpaca Chicken

Alpaca Chicken is looking for Shift Leaders to join our team. The Shift Leader will oversee the opening and closing of our Wake Forest location.

The ideal candidate can confidently oversee and lead a team during a specific work shift. They ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and according to company standards. Additionally, shift leaders often handle customer inquiries or issues, and may be involved in training and supervising staff members. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make quick decisions are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities: 

• Team Supervision: Shift leaders are responsible for overseeing the performance of their team members during a specific shift, ensuring that everyone is fulfilling their assigned duties and meeting performance expectations.

• Customer Service: Shift leaders often interact with customers, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive experience. They may need to handle customer complaints or delegate such issues to appropriate team members.

• Training and Development: Shift leaders are typically involved in training new team members, providing guidance, and ensuring that all staff members are aware of and adhere to company policies and procedures.

• Communication: Effective communication is essential in this role, both in conveying information to the team and reporting to higher management. Shift leaders must keep their team informed about changes, expectations, and updates.

• Problem-Solving: Shift leaders should be adept at quickly addressing and resolving issues that may arise during their shift. This involves making decisions on the spot and implementing solutions to keep operations running smoothly.

• Quality Control: Maintaining food cost and labor is crucial. Shift leaders are responsible for ensuring that products or services meet the established quality criteria and taking corrective action if necessary.

• Time Management: Efficiently managing time is essential for a shift leader. They must prioritize tasks, allocate resources appropriately, and ensure that deadlines are met.

• Safety Compliance: Shift leaders need to enforce safety protocols to create a secure work environment. This involves training staff on safety procedures and taking measures to prevent accidents or injuries.

• Reporting: Shift leaders may be required to generate reports summarizing the shift's activities, including sales, inventory levels, and any notable incidents. These reports help management assess performance and make informed decisions.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in Business, Business Administration preferred or recent related experience.
• Ability to stay calm, patient and professional at all times.  
• Strong leadership skills with a proven record of motivating staff.
• Excellent customer service skills and knowledge of balancing and maintaining budgets.
