About the Job
The Shift Manager is responsible for providing quality guest service by maintaining a clean and organized store image, as well as assisting with merchandising, pricing, and loss prevention. The Shift Manager operates the cash register/Point of Sale (EPOS) and ensures adherence with all Company/Store policies, including brand and image standards. In the absenceof the Assistant Manager the Shift Manager is required to assume the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Manager.
Principle Responsibilities:
· Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a welcoming and friendly environment which includes greeting and thanking every guest.
· Maintain an awareness of monthly promotions, sale merchandise and advertisements, and assist in the completion of the monthly blitz execution as needed.
· Follow all True North procedures for coffee, fountain and food service programs.
· Receive deliveries from vendors and verify accuracy of inventory along with authorization in price book.
· Lead by example by always adhering to company policies and procedures. Address staff compliance issues as needed, either directly or by bringing issues to the manager.
· Assist in training and development of both new and existing staff members.
· Properly address any guest issues or complaints and escalate to the Store Manager when appropriate.
· As directed by the Store Manager, run daily reports, reconcile shift sheets, complete e-store reporting, and prepare and transport bank deposit.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
· Process information and merchandise through EPOS, to include retrieving reports, processing credit card transactions, and operating lottery machine
· Communicate clearly with other employees and guests
· React calmly in the event of an emergency situation
· Read, count, and write to accurately complete shift reports
· Take responsibility for transport of bank deposit
· Stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours
· Work in cold conditions for long periods of time while stocking and cleaning the cooler
· Move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to work flexible schedule, including first, second and occasionally third shift
Minimum Qualifications:
· Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
· Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
· Must have a vehicle (in order to complete banking)
