About the Job
As an Hourly Shift Manager, you will be working closely with the General Manager (GM) and Assistant Manager (AM) in overseeing the operations of a top-tier restaurant. Your main goal is to ensure that our guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience and that our staff enjoy a positive, stimulating work environment. You also play a crucial role in helping the restaurant meet its financial objectives. Areas of responsibility include both Guest Service and Shift Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the GM and AM in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, keeping within budget.
- Upholding our established food standards, quality, preparation and production by adhering to our corporate food handling procedures and policies.
- Ensuring that our procedures are followed in all areas of the restaurant including the dining room, service area and kitchen.
- Training and counseling hourly team members during your shifts.
- Guaranteeing the highest level of hospitality and service to all guests at all times.
- Coaching hourly team members as required during their shifts.
- Making sure all personnel records, schedules and reports comply with our procedures.
- Preparing and maintaining administrative and financial records as directed by the GM.
- Making sure specials, promotions, and marketing plans are properly presented during shift.
- Ensuring the restaurant's operation hours are strictly adhered to during your shift.
- Complying with safety and sanitation procedures, and all Federal, State, and local regulations during your shift.
- Making decisions regarding team member position assignments, disciplinary actions (only when acting as Manager on Duty), executing shift operations and maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant.
- Refer to GM/AM for decisions regarding hiring or terminating team members, pay increases, vendor specifications, scheduling and any purchases beyond normal shift operations.

Education and Experience
- Prior experience in a restaurant is highly preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility, including bending and stooping, for the entire workday
- Ability to work and perform all duties at any station in the kitchen or service area
