Job Summary: Arch Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shift Nurse to join our team at our ASAM 3.7 medically managed detoxification and ASAM 3.5 substance use disorder (SUD) residential treatment facility. The Shift Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care and support to our clients, ensuring their health and well-being throughout their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to clients, including assessments, medication administration, and monitoring of vitals.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Conduct thorough initial and ongoing health assessments to identify medical and psychiatric needs.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facility protocols.
Monitor clients for adverse reactions to medications and promptly address any concerns.
Provide education to clients about their health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation efforts when necessary.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client care, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
Participate in shift handovers, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with incoming staff.
Support clients in adhering to their treatment plans, including attending scheduled activities and appointments.
Uphold infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
Engage in regular training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in addiction treatment and nursing care.
Qualifications:
Current and valid state nursing license (RN or LPN/LVN) required.
Previous experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a related field preferred.
Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications in addiction nursing (e.g., CARN) preferred.
Strong clinical skills and the ability to respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively as part of a team.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support individuals in their recovery journey.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, reaching, and assisting clients with mobility if necessary.
