Shift Supervisor – WIN Waste
Location: Baltimore, MD
Compensation: $130k - $140k base salary + 15% bonus potential
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee the Operations Department at our power generation facility. In this role, you will supervise plant personnel and ensure the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental standards. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a critical part in maintaining our focus on operational excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of operators, ensuring the facility operates smoothly during all shifts.
- Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and environmental compliance standards.
- Train personnel on safety procedures, equipment use, and plant operations.
- Manage and oversee safety programs such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and equipment safety protocols.
- Conduct performance evaluations, approve timesheets, and maintain attendance records.
- Create and manage work requests using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain accurate logs of operations and prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Represent the Plant Manager when upper management is off-site.
- Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate industrial equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and skid steer loaders.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of operating experience in power plant operations.
- 1+ year of supervisory experience in a power generation or steam plant setting.
- Strong understanding of steam-generating power plant operations and controls.
- Hands-on experience with safety programs (lockout/tagout, confined space entry).
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues effectively.
- Experience with CMMS and operating industrial equipment (e.g., forklifts, man lifts).
- Qualifications or willingness to acquire the ASME QRO Provisional License.
Education
- Required: High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
