As the Ship Test and Trials SME, you will provide direct on ship and site location support for the Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Bath, ME, Pascagoula MS, and Washington, D.C. on new construction Arleigh Burke class of ships. You will assist in the grooming and demonstrating of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems for test and activation both prior to and during the ship trial events, and assist PMS400D on identification and resolution of technical issues that surface during construction, trials, and post delivery phases.

In this role, you will:
- Test and provide oversight and management of PMS 400D’s team of deck plate SME’s in support of new construction DDG 51 class ship trials.
- Support DDG 51 new construction trials (Builders, Acceptance, and Final Contract Trials) by assisting the respective Supervisor of Shipbuilding and/or Program Office representative and shipbuilder in the grooming and demonstrating the aforementioned equipment and systems both prior to and during the ship trial.
- Assist PMS 400D in the identification and resolution of HM&E equipment and systems technical issues that arise during ship construction, trials, and post-delivery period.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- US Citizenship
- A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related discipline.
- High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant/similar experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related discipline.
- 5 years of experience (Experience as a shipbuilder conducting waterfront test and trials highly preferred)
- Prior, or current, USCG licensure or ability to obtain is desirable.
- Knowledge or familiarity of U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) equipment & systems, their operation, test and activation.
- Knowledge or familiarity of Main Propulsion, Electric Plant, Deck Systems, Damage Control, Auxiliaries and Aviation equipment & systems.
- The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
