About the Job
As a Shipboard Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our guests' onboard experience through effective management and delivery of all print and digital media communications. This position offers the unique opportunity to combine your design management skills with the adventure of traveling the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the coordination and execution of all marketing for onboard events, ensuring alignment with our brand and communication standards.
- Manage and monitor digital signage throughout the vessel, ensuring content promotes an optimum guest experience while maintaining our brand's integrity and quality standards.
- Create and publish guest programs, including both the Daily Program (print version) and any other relevant materials, ensuring they are accurate and timely.
- Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of all print and digital media before distribution, ensuring error-free guest communications.
- Maintain responsibility for the management of printing services, including setting objectives, performance monitoring, and maintaining regular communication.
- Adhere to budgetary constraints for all printed materials, overseeing the ordering process for consumables and the maintenance of printing equipment.
- Utilize and champion our digital and non-digital tools to enhance guest satisfaction and drive onboard revenue.
- Report and follow up on technical issues with our onboard applications and digital tools, liaising with the IT department to ensure timely resolutions.
- Suggest updates to content management systems to keep information fresh and relevant for our guests.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the designated uniform standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in media management, digital communications, or a related field, preferably within the hospitality or entertainment industry.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
- Familiarity with digital content management systems and a knack for learning new technology quickly.
- Proficiency with Adobe Cloud products, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (critical).
- Excellent at print, catalogue and signage design and publishing.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Understands how to read and adhere to brand standards.
- A creative eye for design and detail, ensuring all communications meet high-quality standards.
- A team player who can collaborate effectively with various departments onboard.
