About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for ensuring that outgoing shipments are prepared accurately, processed efficiently, and delivered on time. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including labeling, packaging, and documentation.
- Verify orders for accuracy, ensuring correct items and quantities are shipped.
- Coordinate with couriers and freight companies for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Track and manage shipment statuses and provide updates to relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and ensure proper documentation for all outgoing packages.
- Perform inventory counts and assist with stock replenishment.
- Inspect incoming shipments and assist with receiving duties when needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to streamline shipping processes.
- Adhere to safety procedures and ensure proper handling of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and tools (e.g., FedEx, UPS, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking shipments.
