Your Role
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for taking direction from Shipping Lead in planning and coordinating all activities relating to the preparation and shipment of finished goods from the factory. Manages and maintains the shipping operations in accordance with company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizing the IFS system reports, determine daily stock inventory items that need to be picked and shipped.
- Prepare pick lists and packing list for daily shipments, and work with team to correct errors.
- Careful audit of shipping documents to assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents.
- Assemble packaging materials and packages merchandise per instructions, in preparation for shipment.
- Utilize networked shipping systems thru UPS and Fed-Ex to process Ground, Express, International and Freight shipments.
- Enter data pertaining to domestic and international shipments into the company's IFS system and into the shipping systems of commercial freight carriers (UPS, Fed-Ex, DHL, etc.).
- Prepare export documentation as required for international shipments.
- Notify consignee of shipment information to other offices and/or agents as needed.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods.
- Ensure that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
- Initiate, answer & document tracer inquiries when requested via email and/or fax.
- Confirm physical shipment of goods and facilitate tracking of packages when requested.
- Process daily invoices in IFS.
- In conjunction with supervisor, will be responsible for all outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and accuracy of all shipping documents.
- Gather, enter into IFS, and maintain all data and records relative to shipping activities.
- Monitor the supply of packaging materials and requisition additional supplies as required.
- Complete necessary management reports as required.
- Help with or complete special projects at the discretion of the Supervisor/Manager.
- Exercise practical confidentiality in discussions regarding company's financial data.
- Quicker learner on ERP systems.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High School graduate required
- Experience utilizing an ERP system, IFS is preferred.
- Experience with a computerized dispatch shipping system (UPS, FedEx, DHL) will be an advantage.
- Experience creating shipping documents/certificates in Word
- Previous shipping experience is preferred.
- Import /Export knowledge, NAFTA, USMCA, Korea-US FTA Certification big plus
Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated self-motivation and self-discipline traits.
- Qualified forklift driver
- PC computer familiarity - experience with Outlook, Word, Excel
- Demonstrated effective communication skills written, oral, and inter-personal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
- Positive and flexible attitude
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Organized and efficient
- Ability to communicate fluently in English
Working Conditions:
The environmental conditions of this job include working near moving mechanical parts, caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles with moderate noise levels.
Physical Requirements:
Good level of fitness is required.This position requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling. There is often lifting/carrying of materials. Average vision and hearing are sufficient.
