Job Title: Shipping Manager

Location: Carrollton, TX

Schedule: Must be able to work 5am - 5pm Monday-Friday (possibility for OT on Saturday)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shipping Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing shipping and logistics strategies to meet our customer service objectives and overall company goals. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective shipping and logistics strategies.

• Coordinate and manage product shipments from suppliers, ensuring accurate documentation, packaging, and labeling.

• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams for timely order fulfillment and accurate delivery.

• Monitor and track shipment activities, providing regular updates to stakeholders and resolving issues.

• Oversee inventory management to ensure stock levels and product availability.

• Evaluate and select transportation carriers based on cost, reliability, and service level agreements.

• Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to optimize transportation costs.

• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and international trade requirements.

• Implement and maintain efficient shipping processes using automation and technology.

• Resolve shipping discrepancies and work with carriers and suppliers on claims.

• Review and analyze shipping data to identify areas for improvement.

• Train and supervise shipping staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.

Required Skills:

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

• Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.

• Proficient in shipping software, warehouse management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

• Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities to resolve shipping issues promptly.

• Strong leadership skills to motivate and supervise the shipping team.

• Analytical mindset for data-driven improvements in shipping processes.

• Understanding of logistics concepts, including carrier selection and cost optimization.

• Familiarity with shipping and packaging techniques for product safety.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

• Proven experience in shipping and logistics management, preferably in a supervisory role.

• Knowledge of relevant shipping regulations and documentation (e.g., Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice).

• Familiarity with international trade compliance, including import/export regulations.

• Experience with shipping software and warehouse management systems.

• Understanding of various transportation modes (trucking, air freight, ocean freight, courier services).

• Demonstrated ability to manage and negotiate contracts with transportation carriers.

• Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced shipping environment.
