DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:
Job Title: Shipping Office Clerk
Location: South East Houston
Pay: $17 - $19/hr.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm
Duration: Temp to Hire
Description of Duties: Performing clerical and administrative duties for the Shipping department. Verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials. Determine shipping method for materials. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies. Schedule shipments with freight carriers. Resolve problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications. Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list.
Requirements: Must have 1 year of experience working in a shipping office. Working with Oracle/JD Edwards software. Good Excel skills.
