Full-time position available: (40 hours a week)
First Shift - Monday-Thursday (6:00am-4:30pm)
Requirements:
• Arrives to work on time and as scheduled.
• Can read work instructions and understand verbal instructions.
• Must be able to clearly communicate and follow directions.
• Be proud of his or her workmanship.
• Deadline orientated.
• Willing to learn other shop and production duties.
Responsibilities:
This person would be managed by the Fabrication Manager. He or she would primarily work with current Shipping & Receiving lead. On occasion and workload dependent, this assistant role would be cross-trained and assigned other shop duties to help support production.
Inspecting Incoming Goods:
• Inspect and verify the quantity and quality of incoming goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Check for damages, shortages, or discrepancies and report them to the appropriate department or supervisor.
Unloading Shipments:
• Assist in unloading trucks or containers, often using equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling tools.
Documentation:
• Accurately record and log incoming shipments into inventory or tracking systems.
• Ensure that all necessary documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs forms, are properly completed and filed.
Maintaining Organization:
• Keep the department area organized and clean, ensuring that items are stored in an orderly and easily accessible manner.
Preparing Shipments:
• Pick and pack items according to customer orders or shipping instructions.
• Ensure that items are packed securely to prevent damage during transit.
Labeling and Documentation:
• Prepare and affix shipping labels, packing slips, and any other necessary documentation to outgoing shipments.
• Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-up and delivery.
Internal Communication:
• Coordinate with other departments, such as customer service and production, to ensure that shipping and receiving activities align with company needs.
Safety Protocols:
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while handling shipments, including the proper use of equipment and personal protective gear.
Quality Control:
• Ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments meet the company's quality standards.
Cycle Counts:
• Participate in regular inventory audits or cycle counts to verify the accuracy of inventory records.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum five years’ experience either in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions clearly.
Other Information:
This position requires the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with co-workers.
