Job Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Associate will play a vital role in the efficient operation of the shipping and receiving department at Techni-Turn. This position involves handling incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining organized inventory records. The Associate will work closely with the shipping and receiving team to facilitate the timely and accurate flow of goods and materials.

- Utilize computer skills, including experience with an ERP system.
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Report any damaged or non-conforming items to supervisors or relevant departments.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging items securely into containers such as boxes, baskets, crates, tubs, pallets etc. and labeling packages appropriately.
- Coordinate with carriers such as UPS, FedEx and common carriers, to schedule pickups and ensure timely delivery.
- Generate shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
- Possess a valid Driver License as you will regularly drive our delivery van to local customers and vendors daily.
- Operate forklift to load/unload shipments.
- Communicate with customers and vendors via email regarding shipments.
- Organize inventory physically and electronically.
- Assist in other areas of the company, as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Record received items in inventory systems and reconcile packing slips with purchase orders.
- Notify appropriate personnel of any issues or discrepancies with received shipments.
- Assist in investigating and resolving discrepancies or issues.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and carriers regarding shipment status and logistics.
- Provide support and assistance to other team members as needed to ensure smooth operation of the shipping and receiving department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and documentation.
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move objects and perform physical tasks as required.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- 3-4 per day
- Flexible start time
- $20.00 per hour
