About the Job
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk 2 will be responsible for managing data entry and incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely movement of goods.
Essential Functions
- Receives incoming shipments and verifies contents against packing slips, purchase orders.
- Prepares outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and suggesting process enhancements to this position's scope of work, as a means to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensures proper packaging and documentation for domestic and international shipments.
- Coordinates with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintains accurate inventory records and track shipments using designated software.
- Operates a forklift to load and unload trucks, as well as move materials within the warehouse.
- Adheres to safety protocols and regulations while operating forklift and handling materials.
- Accurately inputs and maintains data into computer systems and databases.
- Verifies and updates information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Organizes and manages electronic files and documents.
- Assists with data analysis and report generation as needed.
- Performs supplementary/backup duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of 5S principles and experience in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
- Proficient computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, ERP systems, and/or WMS software.
- Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, including knowledge of shipping documentation.
- Familiarity with private sector Enterprise Requirements Planning systems.
- Ability to pass an annual DMV record check required to ensure compliance with company and regulatory driving standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues, vendors, and carriers.
Education / Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
- Valid forklift operator certification or ability to get one
Experience
- 2-4 years shipping and receiving experience required
- Experience in aircraft industry is a plus
