Job description:Position Summary:
This role performs a variety of operations connected with the shipment of products. Verify and keep records of outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipping. Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measure item to verify against invoices, orders, or other records. The associate will also do other operational job functions, such as stockroom and laser marking.
How you will do it:
- Use ERP system
- Assemble cardboard containers.
- Pack items per order supplement or special customer requirements.
- Insert items into container, using spacers, fillers, protective passing or using a Foaming Machine.
- Bind cartons.
- Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Post weights, shipping charges and affix postage.
- Operate hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from packing area to shipping platform.
- Perform electronic inventory transactions to pull orders to ship.
- Navigate to and update customer portals as required daily.
- Prepare and type shipping and related documents, such as waybills, express delivery forms and government forms.
- Must have the ability to operate manual forklifts in a safe manner throughout the facility.
- Maintain and organize the work area to assure safe working conditions and support daily visual flow management guidelines.
- Perform, as assigned, other similar or related duties
- Receive product from suppliers & Customers. De-trash and repack product as necessary for inventory.
- Receive RMA's from customers and process in ERP system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to use UPS/Fed-Ex transactions terminals.
- Precise and effective phone communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Self-Starter
- Ability to learn and apply new skills.
- Accuracy important (systems transactions)
- Ability to interact with truck vendors.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
What we look for :
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate and equivalent experience (On the Job Training)
- PC with Windows, Oracle or Database experience is required.
- Fluency in English Required
- Due to ITAR Restrictions an export license may be required.
