Shipping / Receiving Clerk Job Details
Responsibilities:
Shipping / Receiving:
- Picking parts to fulfill orders from the shuttle, shelving, and pallet racks.
- Packing smaller parts in cardboard boxes and larger parts on pallets or in crates.
- Process daily shipments through UPS and FedEx software.
- Organize and track all outgoing and incoming shipments in the warehouse.
- Maintain physical and digital receiving log.
- Maintain physical and digital BOLs.
- Document and inform parts department of any damaged or incorrect shipments.
- Be available at the receiving dock 8 hours a day between 8:00am and 5:00pm. (lunch hour to be scheduled)
Inventory:
- Organize inventory counts including weekly Friday cycle counts.
- Unpack stock shipments, check part numbers and quantities against proper paperwork, check quality control of each part, label and restock all incoming parts.
- Maintain current and new parts inventory adding, changing or removing bin locations within Microsoft Dynamics.
- Safely repackage oils in 5 gallon pails.
- Maintain inventory of all warehouse packing materials and supplies, order as needed.
Other Duties
- Maintain a tidy and safe workspace - including both bay doors, dumpster area, parts shelves, mezzanine and outside spare parts walkways and docks.
- Disassembles and disposes of wooden crates and shipping materials, recycling them when possible.
- Operate fork truck safely to move, convey, or hoist large and/ or oversized items.
- Organize and track parts to be cleaned in the vacuum oven.
- Empty trash barrels, put out recycling, shred unusable carboard, etc.
Requirements
- Shipper / Receiver must work in a calm, professional manner, have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance.
- Take forklift certification class to drive the forklift.
- Use a variety of tools safely, including power tools and hand jack.
- Use personal protection equipment when necessary.
- Have the ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Clearly and respectfully communicate with all coworkers and supervisors.
- Understand how to read and write weights and dimensions.
- Request assistance from supervisor or associated managers anytime it is necessary.
- Possess computer skills including outlook, word and excel.
- Have the ability to learn new software including power pick global, Microsoft Dynamics, UPS Worldship.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
- Work may produce a high level of mental/visual fatigue and frequently performed under pressure. This requires mental application and attention to details. Mental demands include reading, detailed work, confidentially, problem solving, verbal communication, multiple concurrent tasks, constant interruptions, math, general stress.
