Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping operations, familiarity with UPS and FedEx shipping modules, as well as LTL shipment processing, proficiency in driving forklifts, and exceptional flexibility with availability. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our parcel and LTL shipping department.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize UPS and FedEx shipping modules to prepare shipping labels, documentation, and arrange for pickups. Scheduling LTL freight using 3PL services and completing BOLs.
- Organize and maintain inventory of products and supplies in the shipping area.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects and report any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding shipping and receiving.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the shipping area.
- Collaborate with other team members to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.'
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Proficiency in using UPS and FedEx shipping modules.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility with scheduling and availability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
