Gulf Marine Repair in Tampa, FL is seeking to hire an Outside Machinist Foreman who will be responsible for planning and coordinating the efforts to attain quality, schedules and objectives for the department and organization while motivating them to accomplish the work safely, correctly, and efficiently. You will direct and supervise the Outside Machinist Department and This includes manpower requirements, material, job layout and scheduling of work hours. This is a 2nd Shift position.

As an Outside Machinist Foreman you help develop through training, productivity, and correction action if necessary as you are responsible for making your team accountable for the completion and accuracy of their work.
You operate under strict quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies. You enjoy working in a shipyard environment and find great satisfaction in your work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have own tools.
- 5 years directly related ship building/ship repair experience.
- 3 years minimum supervisory experience within the ship repair or comparable industry.
- Knowledge of marine-related equipment, ship repair techniques, sequencing of ship repair activities as well as shipyard safety practices.
- Must be able to read simple blueprints and communicate the work scope to others.
- The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measures, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals in US and metric conversion.
- Ability to work in confined spaces as well as work above ground at heights of 50 feet or more.
- Must be able to climb scaffolding or ride man lifts.
- Knowledge and good understanding of USCG and ABS rules and regulations.
- Ability to coordinate multiple details related to various projects simultaneously.
- Effective leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Bilingual is a plus.
