Job Title: Shop Foreman
Job Description
Diagnose, service, and repair various systems found on pieces of heavy equipment such as mechanical and computer electronic controls, transmissions, computer-controlled automatic transmissions, and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs. Service, diagnose, repair, and maintain speed tandem drive axles with air or electric shift, hydrostatic driven, heavy-duty multi-axle suspensions. Tune diesel engines, service valves, fuel filters, turbochargers, and perform pressure checks on fuel filters. Diagnose problems, disassemble units, repair or replace parts, and reassemble units in the cooling, drive, brake, electrical, steering, heating, and air conditioning, hydraulic, and air systems. Overhaul engines, replace engines, and rebuild components. Keep tools, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and in good working condition. Assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques. Perform related work as assigned.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
+ Proven experience managing a team, especially technicians.
+ Mechanic experience working on heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, paving machines, backhoes, bulldozers, dump trucks, trenchers, compactors, graders, telehandlers, backhoe loaders, tower cranes, feller bunchers, dragline excavators, wheel tractor scrapers, pile driving machines, and concrete pumps.
+ Experience with mechanical, diesel, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment.
+ Time management and organizational skills.
+ Ability to input data into computer systems and track shop activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Caterpillar equipment.
+ Supervision and management skills.
+ Mobile mechanic experience.
+ Experience with construction equipment.
